In Brooklyn, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across New York vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–6 pm. It is closed on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (718) 788-7683. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, prospectautorepairs.com.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 277 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Brooklyn.

Brooklyn is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Brooklyn follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I have been using this auto repair shop for the last 15 years for both our personal vehicles and work trucks, and we have always been happy with their service. They are honest, reliable, professional, and do quality work. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and dependable auto repair shop. It’s hard to find a mechanic you can trust, and we are happy to have found one. Ehab and Eddie along with the mechanics are the best!!

I’ve been bringing my car to Prospect Auto Repair for years, and they consistently provide honest, reliable, and high-quality service. The team is knowledgeable, professional, and always takes the time to explain what needs to be done without trying to upsell unnecessary repairs. Their pricing is fair, the work is done right, and they stand behind what they do. It’s hard to find a mechanic you can truly trust, but Prospect Auto Repair has earned my confidence. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for dependable auto service in Brooklyn.

Efficient, Fast and Friendly! I walked in for an inspection, My estimate was an hour but it was shorter than that. The guy sitting at the window was extremely kind and knowledgeable. They even given me a call throughout the process letting me know other things my car needed to change at the time. I appreciated that every step of the way. Definitely would recommend!

Best All around mechanic shop in Brooklyn and NYC area. As a born and raised New Yorker, I have been to many. The bougié, the ghetto, the in betweens. Prospect Auto, Ehab and Eddie as the owners, the entire crew are easily and for the last decade, my go-to for everything I have ever needed on both mine and my wife’s cars. These guys are knowledgeable, honest, fast, and reliable EVERY single time!! Recently, my wife was quoted an astronomical price on some work by a dealership. Her car no longer under warranty, I took it to Prospect Auto. The result in same day service as opposed to a week left at her dealer: 3K saved and more work was done than the dealer quote!! They are definitely the people you want to know and go to. You can trust these guys, they and their crew always come through! Thanks fellas!!!!
